We just had a crash and, after finding the error, I wasn't sure whether I should cancel or retry. So I sent a message to the project leader. And he called in within minutes, not surprised that I was still on the job at 21h00.

OK, it's good by then to VOX.
Moving over to TypePad and Flickr.
Not that I have much to move. I never was at VOX for long or visited often anyway.
Now Flickr is no problem, I am on there already. TypePad is new, I'll be checking that out.

How do you shoot your own foot while coding?
In RPG, each line ends with a semicolon (';') but I accidentally typed a colon (':') in several lines. Programmers are lazy and I am no exception. So I run a scan-replace changing all the : into ; . But now the compiles starts to complain (yep happens often) cause in function)-calls the parameters are separated by ; and not by : as they should be.
Scan-replace is your best friend. But your worst enemy at the same time.

Talking about foot-shooting.
I still go to physio and I still walk there. I can cut trough some fields to almost half the distance. Now with a bad knee I didn't want to stumble trough an un-even over grown fields in the dark. So all trough winter and early spring I kept to the road, the longer distance was a good exercise in it's own right. Spring is well advanced now so it's clear when I finish. And it's been dry so there is no crawling trough mud.
So I took the short-cut today.
Only I started out on an unused part of the field and suddenly found myself surrounded by nettles. Imagine me, and old man wearing short trousers, shorts socks and shoes, surrounded by an army of young vigorous nettles aggressively waving they pricky leaves. Unprepared and out numbered one to a thousand I took up the battle and, after an epic struggle broke trough their ranks to regain my freedom.
While I slayed and trampled whole battalions of their soldiers they couldn't stop and kill me. They did score some hits though.
So now I am tending my battle wounds.

Yes, yes, I am still alive.
More alive than usual actually so I don't get online enough anymore.
To get better I am doing extra excercises for my leg and my elbow. The choice is between excercises or surfing. While I mis surfing I do feel the positive effect of the excercises. If I can keep up I'll be running again in summer and be back to my ald physical condition before winter. Months earlier than expected. The kinesist looked suprised when he saw me doing the required excercises. ^_^

Ok, you get some money, pay almost reasonable intrests ... and ... get your private data thrown for grabs.

But you shouldn't complain, it's business as usual.
Who said playing games on a notebook was not good? Sure, some notebooks aren't made for gaming but some ...

OK, it's a one-off but still impressive.
Auch. Got to the doctor to get the stitches removed from my arm and knee.
Removing them hurts more than receiving them.
But they are out ... Yay!!

With go faster stripes : Shuttle
(and a high power engine).
Loads of work. Most of it is replying on stupid questions.
The problem is that we are doing a lot of work caused by problems at a client (which is using SAP). They don't succeed in solving thier problem so they pass them on to us. This causes extra work on our side. But then they chalenge the invoice we send for the extra work. So now the managers here are searching for details to either prove the extra work or to pass the blame on.
And then the software engineer passes me some 'small' projects. Like 'just link a text-file to a load number'. Of course the textfile is no problem but of course I need to write an editor for it as well.
